It’s Afterpay’s premier sales event, and one that thousands of American merchants - not to mention millions of shoppers - take part in every year.
In the US, Afterpay Day helps deliver new customers to brands, with Afterpay’s Shop Directory sending six million referrals to global merchants in March 2021. Around one third of those referrals went to small to medium size businesses.
Afterpay Day also helps increase revenue and drive up basket size.
So, how can retailers make the most of Afterpay Day?

To be featured in Afterpay’s Shop Directory of sales offers, retailers must pre-register their offer or discount.
Develop a sale offer that will engage your customers. In the US, 3000 merchants took part in Afterpay Day in March 2022, with some offering up to 70 per cent off full-price items.
Ensure your customers know that Afterpay Day Sale is coming. Consider using your social media channels, website or newsletter to pre-promote the event, or encourage shoppers to sign up to your e-newsletter to be notified about the sale or receive early access.
Before Afterpay Day begins, ensure your staff – both in-store and online customer support – are familiar with the discount or offer and understand how to use Afterpay.
